Katherine Bodoh currently serves as the group’s deputy executive director
The American Gem Society (AGS) has appointed Katherine Bodoh, its current deputy executive director, as its new CEO.
Bodoh will take over on March 1, 2017. She succeeds current CEO Ruth Batson, who announced her retirement this year.
Prior to joining AGS last year, Bodoh served as director of marketing and industry relations, commercial lines, for Jewelers Mutual Insurance Company. She also worked as special events manager for Manufacturing Jewelers & Suppliers of America (MJSA).
“A lot of talented professionals applied for this position,” said Louis Smith, CEO of Smithworks Fine Jewelry and head of AGS’ CEO search committee, in a statement. “In the end, it was clear that Katherine’s experience in the industry, and, particularly, at AGS, makes her the perfect choice to carry on Ruth’s legacy of excellence.”
Bodoh in a statement pledged to “serve the next generation of industry professionals and keep AGS vibrant, relevant, and indispensable.”
