Alrosa Gets New Head of Corporate Finance

Sergey Takhiev (pictured) has been appointed the new head of corporate finance of Alrosa, the Russian diamond miner.

Prior to joining Alrosa, Takhiev was director of investor relations at NLMK Group, the global steel company.

Takhiev has more than 13 years of experience in metals and mining sector. He studied financial management at the the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration, and he is a graduate of the Fontainebleau, France, campus of INSEAD business school.

“In his new role, Sergey Takhiev will be responsible for attaining a fair valuation of the company, improving its information transparency, building dialogue with the finance community, investors, credit rating agencies, as well as management of the long-term financing,” said Alexey Philippovskiy, Alrosa chief financial officer, in a statement.

Philippovskiy is also a relatively new hire at Alrosa, having joined the company last August.
