This is shaping up to be the year of large diamond finds.
Russian diamond producer Alrosa announced it had recovered a 105.6 ct. diamond (pictured, right) from its Jubliee kimberlite pipe.
The miner did not specify when the stone was found.
The diamond is described as being octahedral-shape, transparent with a moderate yellowish hue, and having small inclusions. It did not estimate any value.
The Jubilee pipe, located in Yakutia, is famed for large finds and has produced 76.07 ct. and 64.23 ct. polished stones.
