The American Gem Trade Association (AGTA) announced today the results of the 2004 elections for the AGTA Board of Directors. The new officers will serve three-year terms and will be inducted at the AGTA Board meeting on Feb. 13 in Tucson, Ariz.
Elections were held for three new director positions. The following AGTA members were elected:
Director: Michael Avram, Gemtech International Corp
Director: Rick Krementz, Richard Krementz Gemstones LLC
Director: Steven Stieglitz, Steven B. Stieglitz
The newly elected members of the Board will join the following officers and directors who are currently serving terms on the AGTA Board:
President: Eric Braunwart, Columbia Gem House, Inc.
Vice President: Ashok Sancheti, Pioneer Gems
Vice President: Robert Linder, Lindeau Gems, Inc.
Secretary: Allen Kleiman, A. Kleiman and Company
Treasurer: Barbara Lawrence, Boston Gems and Findings, Inc.
Director: Betty Sue King, King’s Ransom
Director: Glenn Lehrer, Glenn Lehrer Designs
Director: Sampat Poddar, Byrex Gems, Inc.
Director: Bear Williams, Bear Essentials
The AGTA Board of Directors holds elections on a rotating cycle in order to guarantee coherence of the Board’s long-term plans.
This year two Constitutional Amendment changes appeared on the ballot for member approval. Article 5, Section 6 and Article 7, Section 7 were approved for change by the membership. For full details about the Constitutional Amendment changes please visit our website at www.agta.org.
