AGS Laboratories is offering a Meet and Greet opportunity at the JCK Show ~ Las Vegas and a chance to win a new desktop version of the AGS Advanced Instruments Division’s Angular Spectrum Evaluation Tool (ASET).
On June 5, meet Peter Yantzer, executive director AGS Laboratories, in the AGS Laboratories booth (L5) at 11 a.m., and drop off a business card to enter to win a free desktop ASET.
The ASET is a proprietary device that, along with showing optical symmetry characteristics, identifies the light handling ability of the diamond.
AGS launched its Performance-based Cut Grading System in 2005, and since then, AGS Laboratories has been implementing the Cut Grade in their Diamond QualityTM Documents. With the new system, all facets of a diamond are measured in three dimensions rather than two. The measurements are input into a computer program that traces light rays traveling through a diamond. The program shows the quantity and quality of the light being returned to the viewer. In addition to proportion, polish, and symmetry; AGS Laboratories also considers brightness, dispersion, leakage, contrast, and weight ratio in assigning the final cut grade.
