The organization also recertified 2,100 titleholders after its annual recertification exam
The American Gem Society (AGS) has bestowed credentials on 167 new titleholders.
The organization also announced that 2,100 titleholders have been recertified following its annual recertification exam.
“Education is an important first step for so many people in the jewelry industry. It’s often also the stopping point in their professional development,” said Ruth Batson, CEO of AGS and AGS Laboratories, in a statement. “The difference between an academic credential and a professional credential is an important distinction that sets AGS Titleholders apart from their peers. It is the foundation of Robert M. Shipley’s vision: professionalizing the jewelry trade through continuing education, business ethics, and consumer protection.”
The new titleholders will be recognized at the society’s Titleholders Luncheon on April 14 during the annual Conclave in Washington, D.C.
