A brutal mugging has turned into a humorous ad for watch
brand Hublot.
Formula 1 CEO Bernie Ecclestone’s Hublot watch was stolen
during a Nov. 25 mugging that left him hospitalized. Following the incident, Ecclestone sent a photo of his
injuries to Hublot CEO Jean-Claude Biver, adding, “See what people will do for
a Hublot.”
Now that e-mail has turned into an ad, which features an
untouched photo of the injured Ecclestone, plus his original commentary. The
“one-shot” ad appeared in the Dec. 8 Financial Times and International Herald
Tribune.
