A Simple Way to Share Some Sparkle on Instagram

Creating an Instagram feed can be a daunting task for a retailer or designer. Everyone loves a feed with beautiful models, lush locations, and professional photography, but what if you do not have the resources to art-direct a stunning Instagram feed? A few of the designers I follow are utilizing Instagram video to showcase simple but stunning clips of their jewelry, and the technique is easy enough for anyone to integrate. Not only do followers get a view of the jewels from multiple angles, they get to see just how much the stones sparkle (a lot).

Brooklyn, N.Y., boutique Mociun and Los Angeles designer Heidi Gibson both have simple, product-focused Instagram feeds and utilize simple videos to beautifully showcase their custom rings. This is a trick that does not require great photography skills or art direction: All you need is your phone’s camera, good lighting, and, of course, a hand model. Your own will likely do just fine. (Manicure optional.) And if you are wary of showing show much of your own hand, a ring in a ring box can have the same effect.
