A new MJSA technology showcase in Los Angeles

In response to its members’ request for a West Coast show, Manufacturing Jewelers & Suppliers of America (MJSA) and Network LA, an MJSA manufacturing network, will present ‘LA Technology Showcase’ to be held April 29-30, 2001 at the Omni Hotel in Los Angeles. The tabletop trade show will feature suppliers of the latest equipment, machinery, component parts, computer software and hardware, security systems, and packaging.

The event grew out of Technology Day, a jewelry-making technology forum created by Network LA. The first Technology Day, in October of 1999, drew 14 exhibitors and 200 attendees through word-of-mouth promotion alone, according to MJSA officials. In its second year, the event grew to include 20 exhibitors and boasted a 25% increase in attendance. The early success led MJSA and Network LA to move the show out of the abandoned bank where it had previously been held and increase its marketing efforts to attract more exhibitors and buyers. MJSA expects to double the number of exhibitors and attendees from last year.

An educational program including seminars and panel discussions on the latest technology available to the industry will accompany the showcase. A full list of programs is available at www.mjsainc.org. The event also serves as a stop on the MJSA Live! U.S. Tour. This cocktail party on Sunday, April 29, allows attendees to relax with their colleagues and get an update on MJSA news.

Display space is still available for the LA Technology Showcase. Call Paula Esposito or Tina Gosselin at 1-800-444-MJSA. They can also be reached by e-mail at paula@mjsainc.com and tina@mjsainc.com. For registration information, visit the trade show pages at www.mjsainc.org or call 1-800-444-MJSA
