A Jeweler’s Vision of a Mercedes-Benz

I know what you’re thinking: What on earth is a car doing on a jewelry blog? Well, it’s because Thomas Sabo, the well-known German jewelry designer, teamed up with another famed German brand, Mercedes-Benz, to create a kick-ass, limited-edition, A-class Peak model that comes in both black and white. Sabo’s signatures—the fleur-de-lis of the designer’s “Rebel at Heart” men’s collection for the black version and the filigree Arabesque motifs of the women’s “Glam & Soul” collection for the white—can be found on everything from the car’s paintwork to hardware in the interior. The Thomas Sabo logo sits prominently on the car’s mirror mount, roof spoiler crosspieces, hubcaps, and fender plaques. Sabo and Mercedes-Benz have collaborated on the Formula 1 racetrack for years, according to the jewelry designer. “This is where the idea about a design collaboration was first born about three years ago,” Sabo said in a statement. “But even more importantly, we feel that there are many values that connect us: Thomas Sabo and Mercedes-Benz both stand for excellent quality, innovation and an international lifestyle.” The models will be available for sale on May 1 in Nuremberg, Furth, and Erlangen, Germany, as well as online. The best part? The collaboration is surprisingly affordable at $31, 577.
