Not your average birthstone gifts
We all talk about how lucky those born in April are, to have the diamond as their birthstone. It’s not untrue—who wouldn’t want to be gifted with diamonds each year on her birthday?—but I also think they’re getting a little bit shafted. An unpopular opinion, perhaps, but I think of it like this: There are multiple occasions or even just purchases in life typically marked by a diamond. A classic engagement ring, the jewelry box staple diamond studs, even a petite pavé pendant. But do you ever notice how diamonds are treated so differently from other gemstones by nearly everyone? I’ve worn a variety of colored gemstones and have been asked each and every time by someone or another if they were my birthstone. But wear a diamond, and it’s just, well, you like diamonds (who doesn’t?). With a gemstone so beloved, I can’t imagine many April babies feel like the diamond is their stone (not that an emerald only belongs solely to those born in May, and so on). So, how to make an April baby feel really special? Go big, go major, go wondrously different. Take, for example, these delicious jewels: The diamond is not meant only as the sparkling accent, but also as the star—just as they will star in many an April birthday wish list, I’m sure of it.
