The eighth annual Portland Jewelry Symposium, the one-day conference that brings together jewelry leaders to discuss current industry trends, will take place Oct. 5 in Portland, Ore.
Benjamin Smithee, the chief strategy officer for Relevents and CEO of his own brand strategy consultancy, The Smithee Group, will keynote an opening dinner on Oct. 4.
Ten speakers will present at the symposium, including David Geller, the former owner of Atlanta’s Jewelry Artisans who now advises independent jewelers through his company JewelerProfit; designer Paul Klecka, who will share insights on digital design; designer Sessin Durgham, a member of Rio Grande’s technical support team, who will share his expertise on pulse-arc welding; and digital manufacturing guru Kevin Abernathy.
“I believe there is a growing interest in the trade for events like ours where in-depth networking opportunities complement a full education program,” said founder Teresa Frye in a release.
The conference will take place the Sentinel Hotel and the opening dinner will be at the Portland Art Museum. More information, including registration details, can be found at portlandjewelrysymposium.com.
