An 8.01 ct. vivid blue diamond ring is expected to rake in $11.5 million–$14 million during Sotheby’s Hong Kong’s Magnificent Jewels and Jadeite Spring Sale on April 3.
The ring is the largest emerald-cut vivid blue to appear at auction for a number of years. Emerald cuts are much sought-after among colored diamond collectors.
The sale will also be highlighted by a pair of notable pinks. A 5.03 ct. pear-shape fancy vivid pink diamond ring is expected to sell for $5.4 million–$6.7 million. A 3.28 ct. pear-shape internally flawless fancy vivid pink diamond and white diamond ring could fetch $2.8 million–$3.6 million.
The sale will feature other bright colored jewels, including rare blue and pink diamonds, Colombian emeralds, Burmese rubies, Kashmir sapphires, natural pearls, and jadeite jewelry. In total, the sale is expected to fetch between $75 million and $95 million.
