The loose stone is expected to fetch as much as a half million dollars
Leslie Hindman Auctioneers will feature an antique Kashmir sapphire at it’s Important Jewelry auction Sept. 11–12 in Chicago.
The stone is from the estate of Rebecca Cook Schoonmaker of Pittsburgh and is expected to sell for $225,000–$250,000.
Other top lots include an platinum, aquamarine, and diamond necklace by Tiffany & Co. (estimated at $30,000–$50,000), a Georgian gold, emerald, and diamond bracelet (estimated at $18,000–$22,000), and a gold, platinum, turquoise, and diamond bracelet by Cartier (estimated at $5,000–$7,000).
