50 Percent of Brides Prefer a Brand New Engagement Ring

Vintage and heirloom rings are all the rage in the fashion and celebrity worlds, but of the 10,000 recently engaged women or newly married brides surveyed for The Knot’s most recent Market Intelligence Report, second-hand rings accounted for only 14 percent of total engagement rings used in marriage proposals.

Fifty percent of those polled chose a brand-new, fully fashioned ring, while 36 percent opted for a new, custom-designed ring.

Good news for most independent jewelers.
