5 JCK Covers From 1950-55 That Missed the Mark

While compiling the next installment of the best JCK magazine cover collection series—which will go live on Saturday—I found several covers from the years 1950–55 that missed the mark.

JCK October 1950

This gentleman appears to be thrilled that he’s on our cover.

JCK April 1951

JCK September 1952

That guy looks to have the upper-body strength of a newborn grasshopper. There is no way he is going to be able to handle this giant phone.

JCK March 1955

I have nothing witty to say about this cover, because I spent too much time trying to figure out what was going on in it.

JCK July 1955

I couldn’t say it better than editorial assistant Hailey Reissman: “A nice shot from when JCK took a vacation to the beach and told all its relatives it’d be ‘fun’ to rent a tandem bicycle.”
