5 Fantastic Finds From the Bangkok Gems & Jewelry Fair

Hello from Thailand!

I’m here at the 63rd edition of the Bangkok Gems & Jewelry Fair—an intimate, easy-to-navigate showcase that boasts large sections for silver jewelry and innovative contemporary design, both in the fair’s New Faces area and its aptly monikered Innovation & Design Zone.

I’m planning to post a full wrap-up of the show, which closes this weekend, right here next week. But in the meantime, I wanted to share a few of my favorite finds from the past two days. To see even more jewelry, follow JCK on Instagram (if you don’t already) and tap the Bangkok Highlight to see styles I snapped on the show floor today and yesterday!

Heritage necklace
A sterling silver necklace with hollow forms that was as light as a feather by Heritage, a Laos-based firm. The show’s bench of truly covetable silver collections runs deep.
Ionic earrings
Top and above: Electroform-plated silver earrings from Thai brand Ionic. I love that the design marries traditional Thai design flourishes with an edgy, urban feel.
Caso rings
Pretty glass and gold-plated silver rings at Thai firm Caso’s booth. They catch the light like crazy and look great when worn in multiples.
Middle M earrings 2
Sterling silver and pearl earrings from Thai brand Middle M. The young designer for this collection is self-taught, but you’d never know it from his sophisticated and unique-feeling designs.
Waby rings
Oversized animal rings from Thai brand Waby. Believe it or not, they’re comfy. And I’m knocked out by the elegant way the croc’s tale swirls around the finger.
