40.5 Carat Golconda Diamond Pendant Headlines Christie’s Hong Kong Auction

Christie’s Hong Kong will hold its Magnificent Jewels auction on May 27.

Headlining the sale is a rare Golconda diamond pendant necklace called the Eye of Golconda, which features a 40.5 ct. Golconda diamond, the largest ever to be auctioned in Asia. The necklace also features a second Golconda diamond (6.76 cts.) and emeralds. 

The necklace is estimated to sell for between $8,500,000 and $10,000,000.

Other highlights of the sale:

• A 9.38 ct. pear-shaped fancy intense pink diamond ring estimated at $5,800,000– $8,300,000

• A duo of unmounted D-color flawless type IIa brilliant-cut diamonds, 26.08 and 26.2 cts., respectively, estimated at $4,000,000–$6,500,000

• A jadeite bangle estimated at $3,800,000–$6,500,000 

In addition, the sale will feature an array of rare colored diamonds, including fancy orangy- pink, fancy deep pink, fancy intense blue, fancy vivid green-blue, fancy intense green, fancy deep yellow-green, fancy violet-gray, and fancy vivid yellow.
