Something to love from the classic to the unconventional
I can’t imagine what it’s like to be a retailer at JCK Las Vegas; what a list you must have to make! Whereas I have the gleeful duty of flitting from booth to booth, hoping to share with you the pieces that I think should make it into your stores, well, you have to actually get those pieces into your stores. You have to consider the price point, the typical customer profile in your area, and, no matter how awe-inspiring a design may be, the probability that it can and will sell. But when it comes to bridal, I think you have a bit more freedom to experiment. You never know who’s going to come in requesting to see engagement rings or wedding bands or what their individual style preferences may demand. In my experience working retail, brides-to-be can be as different as night and day—heck, even the same shopper could change his or her mind in the span of an hour. There’s a lot to see in Vegas this year when it comes to bridal collections, and I think the pieces below will inspire more than a few wish lists.
Sylvie Collection
One visit with Sylvie and any retailer can easily come away with whatever he or she needs for their store. You’ve got not only bridal jewelry, but fashion jewelry, too, though for the purposes of this, we’ll stick to engagement rings and wedding bands (though you can tempt yourself with all of the gorgeousness when you get there!). If you can’t find something your customers won’t love among Sylvie’s delicately adorned, glittering lineup, then an engagement ring is not what they’re looking for.

Claude Thibaudeau
What I’m particularly excited to see at Claude Thibaudeau is the new Glacier Blue Diamond collection. Available in platinum or 18k white gold, each piece is decorated with soft blue diamonds that only have me thinking that this is what Cinderella’s engagement ring should look like. They are a must on my see-in-person list.

Dorian & Rose
While these creations from Dorian & Rose could just as easily be purchased for everyday wear as for bridal, I think they do a wonderful job at striking that middle balance. Detailed with a hammered design and silky brushed finish, each ring looks just as marvelous stacked or worn alone, and I think it’s just as probable that a bride will fall in love with any of these as her forever ring, just as much as I have as the (aspirational) new addition to my jewel box.

Rona Fisher
You could certainly argue that the rings before you aren’t strictly bridal, and that’s totally justified. But I would counter that argument by saying that this is just what your engagement ring selection needs. For those on the hunt for alternative options in bridal, Rona Fisher’s Pebbles collection rings are both edgy and classic; they’re rebellious in their unconventional style but classic in a way that you could never tire of them. If you find that you don’t have brides that veer too far from the traditional, then you’ve got a best-selling fashion collection on your hands. Win-win!
