The Hallelujah Diamond

Another tourist has hit the jackpot at Crater of Diamonds State Park in Murfreesboro, Ark.

Susie Clark of Evening Shade, Ark., found a 3.69 ct. teardrop-shape white diamond in the park on April 23.

“The gem is frosted white with a pearlescent, metallic shine,” said park interpreter Wamon Cox. “This is the largest diamond found so far this year. And it’s the largest one found since April 16, 2014, when a 6.19 ct. white diamond, named the Limitless Diamond, was found at the park.” 

Recent rain and the plowing of the search field aided Clark in her find, which was perched on the surface.

Clark’s stone is the 122nd diamond found in the park this year. More than 75,000 diamonds have been discovered in the park since it first opened in 1906.

Clark has named her gem the Hallelujah Diamond because she said a prayer just before she found it. She plans to keep the gem.
