On Saturday, I cited a study that reported 85.9 million smartphone users accessed retail content in July.
To further the case that retailers should invest at least some of their time and capital in mobile marketing, I found three infographics that are chock-full of information that points to mobile as the future of retail.
Some key stats that jumped out at me:
- Forty-five percent of men made a mobile purchase, compared with 34 percent of women.
- Fifty-one percent of smartphone users are more likely to purchase from retailers with a mobile specific website.
- Predicated 2012 world mobile sales: $119 billion. Predicated online sales: $1.4 trillion.
- Nearly half of mobile users abandoned a brand after a poor mobile experience.
