3 Graces of Gold Goes for a Plot Twist With Latest Jewelry Collection

Share

Like any good plot twist, 3 Graces of Gold’s latest collection is about surprise—specifically, the ways jewelry can surprise you, says brand founder and designer Naz Kretlow—and it reflects how the company is embracing its “old meets new” design philosophy.

The Plot Twist collection debuted in late 2025, but the response has been so strong that Kretlow says she plans to add new designs each quarter. These new pieces will use some of her favorite materials: enamel, natural colored gemstones, and repurposed antique diamonds.

Plot Twist started with four recognizable symbols—the horseshoe, the star, the crayon, and a screw-top bottle cap—which the designer turned into fine jewelry pendants. Each holds meaning, whether it is luck (the horseshoe or star) or even practicality (the Screw This pendant can carry any secret in its compartment).

The latest additions are a gemstone-studded berry pendant and an ombré diamond peanut pendant, funny little takes on fruit and figural jewelry, which are among Kretlow’s favorites to collect.

The latest additions to the Plot Twist collection are the Bite Me berry (from $3,750) and ombré diamond peanut pendants (from $2,550), The peanut says I’m a real nut on its flip side.

Kretlow says 3 Graces of Gold also is leaning into the bold, sculptural shapes of the 1960s and 1970s, colorful enamel, and chunky antique-cut gemstones—all trends that feel like they will last well beyond 2026 based on client reactions.

“My brand is led by my personal style, my appreciation of history, and my opinions on jewelry and design, but it’s also about building community, and I get input from my clients all the time, about how they are wearing their jewelry, what they want to see more of, what brings them joy as collectors,” Kretlow says.

An example is 3 Graces of Gold client favorite, the Chubby Donut Band. Kretlow recently reopened the preorder window for the heavy gold bands, which come in 14k, 18k, or 22k gold. Preorders came in so quickly that she won’t accept new orders until March.

Going big into gold might seem like another plot twist given the high prices, but Kretlow says consumers are looking at pieces like the Chubby Donut Band for both beauty and value. They want something they can wear daily that also shows their taste and style with real gold.

The Houston-based fine jewelry brand also had fun with that idea through its Valentine’s Day campaign. Rather than focus on someone else buying jewelry for her clients, she encouraged them to get what they truly want with the message “You are the prize. Now pick one for yourself.”

Kretlow started 3 Graces of Gold three years ago, and it is a reflection of her educational background, her love of collecting jewelry, and what she values most in life. She has a bachelor’s in art history from Rice University and an MBA from Cornell University, working in health care and as a management consultant for McKinsey & Co.

“I’m a lifelong collector. As a kid and teenager all I had access to was costume jewelry and silver, and I didn’t buy my first piece of fine jewelry until I was working after graduate school. But I was always drawn to jewelry, and I felt myself being drawn to it more and more as a collector as my resources grew in my late 20s and 30s,” Kretlow says.

“Right around the time I turned 40, I felt pulled to dive into my passion headfirst and transition from collector to a curator for others and run my own business,” she says. “3 Graces of Gold is named for the strong units of three in my life: my mom, my sister, and me. My three kids. The Three Graces from Greek mythology, who symbolize beauty, connection, and service.”

That is why jewelry carries so much meaning for Kretlow—it carries a sense of pride and accomplishment, she says.

“I love that a single jewelry piece can hold many meanings to a single person and various people as it changes hands through time. It speaks a lot to empowerment, style and confidence when we choose jewelry to adorn ourselves, and we project that energy in how we show up in the world,” she says.

“I wasn’t able to buy fine jewelry until I was a working professional, had paid off student loans, and had established myself. When I put it on my energy shifted. I think it holds real power.”
