
Some 92 percent of affluent women expect to receive a gift this holiday season, up 15 percent from last year, according to a survey by the American Affluence Research Center.
Twenty-two percent of affluent women hope to receive a fine jewelry item, making it the third most popular category, following money and clothing.
The study, which surveys the wealthiest 10 percent of U.S. households based on net worth, found that affluent adults are expected to spend $2,102 on gifts this year. Ninety-three percent of affluent consumers will buy holiday gifts, up 2 percent from 2011.
