Two awards shows down, two to go. That’s if you count the Golden Globe, SAG, Grammy, and Academy awards as the big four (there’s a smattering of other shows I always seem to miss). I think it’s safe to say that we’ve been more pleased than usual with the appearance of red carpet jewels thus far, according to the vibes on Twitter and subsequent red carpet roundups after each event. We’ve seen a fair share of classic diamonds, many of which were of the mega-carat variety, so that’s okay. Along with those rocks, particularly at the SAG Awards, there have been a number of ear cuffs (Keira Knightley and Emma Stone totally brought it in Repossi) and a generous helping of yellow gold. Even Jennifer Aniston has been mixing it up by moving away from basic black and classic jewelery and wearing more unusual pieces like her Fred Leighton earrings from the Globes and that body chain from the SAGs. I don’t have to tell you that I’m giddy as all get-out with the body jewelry being featured on the red carpet, especially when it so elegantly features diamonds and gold, but I can’t help but wonder what we’ll see next. This Sunday’s Grammy Awards, I can guess, will be a little more fashion-forward, with its participants free to take on more risks. The Oscars, on the other hand—the big one—is typically more refined, so I’m not sure that we’ll be seeing ear cuffs, body chains, bold bracelets, etc., though I’d sure love it, wouldn’t you? Celebs, give us something to talk about! But hey, if you can’t rely on the celebs to wear jewels like these, at least you can count on your customers! No red carpet event or couture gowns needed.
Whether it’s diamonds or colored stones, a certain edge is added to any piece with blackened metals. Jewels like these could toughen up even the most fluffy, feminine gown.
Imagine a sleek white dress as the backdrop to cuff bracelets like these. Ooh la la…
There’s nothing wrong with a solid classic, but I prefer mine with a twist.
Rahaminov Diamonds for Forevermark
The weather always seems so perfect in Hollywood, doesn’t it? A pop of color to warm up the rest of us will do just fine (sending some sunshine wouldn’t hurt, either).
And finally, those vying for a gold statue should wear what else but yellow gold? Bonus points for standout looks like these!
