The 128.54 Carat Tiffany Diamond Will Be On View At London Exhibit

Among the pieces on display at Tiffany & Co.’s latest installment of its Vision & Virtuosity exhibition (the last one was in Shanghai), the Tiffany Diamond is a highlight. At 128.54 carats, it’s one of the world’s most exceptional yellow diamonds. It has been worn by only four women since its discovery in 1877: American socialite Mary Whitehouse, Audrey Hepburn, Lady Gaga, and Beyoncé. But the jeweler is transferring over 400 other archival objects (acquired since its founding in 1837) from its collection of high jewelry designs, window displays, and popular culture pieces to London’s Saatchi Gallery from June 10 to August 19.

Vision & Virtuosity tells the extraordinary story of one of the oldest luxury jewelers, through its nearly 200-year history of pioneering creativity, legendary craftsmanship, and sourcing of the world’s most extraordinary diamonds and gemstones,” said Anthony Ledru, Tiffany & Co.’s president and chief executive officer, in a statement. “This exhibition perfectly captures our long-standing heritage in bridging tradition and modernity. We are thrilled to share the world of Tiffany & Co. and our unique high jewelry style with London.”

Another exceptional jewel that the brand will showcase is its recently acquired 80 ct. Empire Diamond, one of the house’s most expensive pieces, second only to the Tiffany Diamond. But beyond some of the world’s most extraordinary gems, the exhibition will also highlight its cultural significance through one-of-a-kind objects such as the original Breakfast at Tiffany’s script and the iconic Givenchy gown that Audrey Hepburn wore in the film.

“Since its inception, Tiffany & Co. has held a unique position within culture,” said Alexandre Arnault, Tiffany & Co.’s executive vice president of product and communications. “Vision & Virtuosity celebrates the house’s most defining moments, showcases the incredible collection of archives, and exemplifies why Tiffany & Co. is such an iconic brand.”

Case in point: Everybody recognizes Tiffany Blue.
