12 Jewelry Trends for 2015: Necklaces and Pendants to Layer

Another year, another list of trends to stay on top of! Join JCK senior editor Jennifer Heebner and me as we exemplify the best jewels to stock this year, from her 2015 list of 12 trends to follow.

Trend No. 2: Layering Necklaces

When it comes to accessorizing, there are two ideologies: Less is more, and more is more. While there are those whose personal styles have them fiercely loyal to one camp or the other (i.e., following the recommendation that you should remove one piece before heading out the door), some, especially if interested in the latest trends, swear by both. From runways to styles on the street, the fashion world has us feeling a bit like we have split personalities. This season is all about the minimal! Or, it’s a maximalist’s dream this spring! It can be difficult to keep track. When it comes to jewelry, though, layering, like stacking, straddles the line. Maximalist? Pile on hordes of chains, from thick statement necklaces to giant pendants. More demure? You can still fasten on a few, just opt for the more delicate, such as by-the-yard chains or teeny-tiny pendants. Try keeping them all at a different length—or don’t—you’re good to go no matter what style you subscribe to. So for your customers, be they in-betweeners or loyal to a certain style, recommend any of these pieces below to get them started on the layer of the season.
