Britt’s Pick: Jane Taylor’s Happy Cuff Bracelet

The colorful piece lives up to its name and then some

I’ve been in love with Jane Taylor‘s jewelry from the get-go (and by get-go, I mean since basically my first day with JCK). The presence of such vivid color brings a remarkable feeling of happiness, and, I didn’t even know this was possible, but the creations just keep getting better. This bracelet, aptly dubbed Happy, not only wears its name well, it also reminds me of one of the very first JT pieces I encountered. Called the Warrior cuff, this piece was on the September 2012 cover of JCK magazine (and also a Britt’s Pick during that same time), in all its blackened sterling glory, with rubies and diamonds and a very warrior-like geometric pattern. Here’s that cover:

Fast-forward four years, and the Happy cuff bracelet is just as fierce, its powerful display of gemstones softened around the edges by its use of pastel colors. I’m awestruck by the layout of shapes, which appear to burst from the center, born from that oval-shape XX, branching into squares and rounds and baguettes and forming a shield of color and light that can never be broken. This bracelet is simply a beacon of joy—you can’t not feel amazing when you’re looking at it. Imagine wearing it every day? Whoever gets to will be an unstoppable force of cheer—and I’d most certainly like to spend some time with that person (and not just so I can borrow the bracelet).
