Britt’s Pick: Ayesha’s Intricate Hoop Earrings

A pair I can’t stop staring at

As hoop earrings return to their rightful place as ruler of popular earwear, I, until a few days ago, was mostly drawn to the many iterations of the traditional hoop: a sleek, swooping shape, varying in metal and gemstone adornment. And while I continue to appreciate the classic form of the hoop earring for long-term wearability and, just because it seems like a personal and retail collection no-brainer, Ayesha has inspired another thought. Artsy, but not over-the-top, this pair of handcrafted marvels hit the sweet spot between hoop and threader, with a dangling effect, too. Modern but with vintage flair, it’s the textured metal and briolette diamond drops that have me thinking I’d have encountered this pair nestled deep in a Paris antique shop. Its bezel-set, rose-cut diamonds are a mix of modern and old, spanning categories and decades of design inspiration. Though each element of this pair says something entirely different to me, as a package, it’s a cohesive beauty that I’d never tire of analyzing. If the customer of this design is anything like me, they’ll need to invest in some compact mirrors: As long as these are on one’s ears, there promises to be plenty of reflection-checking.
