Ritani Releases State Breakdown on Engagement Ring Spend

Ritani has released an infographic detailing the average amount clients in each state spend on engagement rings, and the results may surprise you—they certainly surprised me!

Montana had the highest average spend at $9,523, followed by Nevada at $9,478, and Washington at $9,173.

The most thrifty states, according to the data: South Dakota at $1,251 and Vermont at $2,665.

In March, wedding planning site The Knot published the results of its annual survey and reported that the national average spend on a ring is $5,855.

No one was able to give me any insight into the numbers, so I can only  speculate. Though Ritani is based in White Plains, N.Y., its e-commerce operations are based in Seattle. Could the West Coast presence influence brand awareness among bigger spenders (such as other Internet executives)? Hard to know, but the numbers are certainly interesting.
