Retailer Spotlight: Krombholz Jewelers

Power tools usually take the product center stage on ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. But on May 1, jewelry will be a big focus of the program. For his role in the ABC show, Lee Krombholz, owner of Krombholz Jewelers in Cincinnati, Ohio, is in this week’s Retailer Spotlight.

Krombholz got involved in the home makeover show featuring the Dickinson family of Beaufort, S.C., when he learned about the plight of Bill Dickinson, a U.S. Marine of 17 years currently deployed in Afghanistan. Dickinson’s many deployments brought financial problems to his family, resulting in such severe neglect of the family home that it was rendered uninhabitable. Needless to say, the Marine’s wife India never received an engagement ring.

When Krombholz heard about Dickinson’s home and engagement jewelry issues, he decided to give the couple a $17,000 custom-designed ring. “I’ve had a sneak-peek at a portion of the show, and while I don’t want to say too much before it airs, it is very moving and we are delighted to be a part of it,” Krombholz said.
