Britt’s Pick: Tamir’s Fantastical Aquamarine Ring

Tamir’s aquamarine ring is like a chameleon. At first glance, it’s futuristic. Like a spaceship or some otherwordly device from a sci-fi movie. Upon further inspection, it’s part of the medieval world, like a shield that is destined to protect only the bravest knight. Whichever way you see it, the design evokes thoughts born in fantasy and awakens the imagination. Its outer shell—shield, capsule, what have you—is blackened silver, which works well to contrast with the bright aquamarine pear at the center, all 13.7 cts. of it. Round diamonds create the contemporary pattern that decorates the border, illuminating it and providing just the right amount of glitter to the sort-of-rustic piece. So, is it Game of Thrones or Star Trek? Out of this world or out of this century?
