Meet Malibu 18, New Diamond Jewelry From Irit Design and Rahaminov Diamonds

Malibu neighbors Tamara Rahaminov Goldfiner and Irit Ehrlich now share something more than property lines. Goldfiner, the designer behind Rahaminov Diamonds, known for its gloriously big stones, and Ehrlich, known for fashion-forward diamond-dusted silver styles in her Irit Design firm, teamed up to debut Malibu 18, a perfect marriage of their strengths—diamonds and modern design.

Pieces in the Malibu 18k collection are made in 18k yellow gold and are often set with carre diamonds, a type of square shape that Goldfiner prefers over princess cuts. “Carre diamonds don’t have all the facets of a princess,” she observes. “Imagine an Asscher without the cut corners.”

The looks themselves speak to Ehrlich’s bohemian-chic signature style via hammered finishes and some familiar looks like feathers (a signature motif in the Irit Design line), but are made in materials—gold and unique diamonds—for which Rahaminov is known.

To date, 30 SKUs exist with retail prices starting at $6,000. Some one-of-a-kinds exist, though most looks are repeatable. Malibu 18 debuted to the trade at the Centurion show last month, but you can see it again at LUXURY in Las Vegas, May 26 to June 1.
