Meet the Press: WJA Event Offers Face Time With Marion Fasel and Claudia Mata

If you want to know what it takes to get your jewelry into W magazine, your answer can be found on the Upper East Side on Nov. 10, courtesy of the Women’s Jewelry Association.

The Metropolitan chapter has organized Meet the Press, an event enabling industry attendees to hear directly from key editors on what they want and need to provide editorial coverage.

The panel includes Claudia Mata of W, Marion Fasel of theadventurine.com (debuting in 2016), and Tanya Dukes of InStore. The trio work as dedicated jewelry editors, and their job is to cast a spotlight on new and established talent (and some retailers in Dukes’ position) who consumers and buyers might like to collect or sell. These are editors, not advertorial bloggers who sell content, and this is a rare opportunity to connect with them. The Jeweler’s Resource Bureau’s Cindy Edelstein, another beloved and devoted steward of fine jewelry, will serve as moderator.

As many are aware, few true editors remain in jewelry, so it’s a privilege that these three carved time out of their schedules—which are positively jam-packed—to provide this industry service and education. Plus, it’s always best to find out firsthand from editors what they need for coverage. If you have a question, ask an editor directly! And if you’re in town on Nov. 10, come to this event to do so yourself.

To get your product or service in front of this WJA audience of about 100 attendees, largely designers and makers, please reach out to me directly at JHeebner@jckonline.com to inquire about a sponsorship.
