Organically Awesome: Sarah Graham Metalsmithing

If you’re wondering where the year has gone, you’re not alone. Not only are the holidays fast approaching, but here’s another fact to make you rethink the dimension we’re currently living in: JCK Tucson is right around the corner.

In addition to planning your best-selling jewelry spread for your gift-shopping clients, you may be thinking about the upcoming show season. Once the dust settles from the holiday rush, February’s Tucson show is an opportunity to rejuvenate, restock, and reacquaint yourself with current—or impending—trends in gemstones and design.

I, however, can’t wait that long. Having just gotten a delivery of jewelry images from one Sarah Graham, I’m bursting at the seams to encourage you to stock your store with them ASAP, if you can.

Soft, organic styles have a foothold on the aesthetic market these days—everything from wearable to decorative goods and even edible ones, too (or at least, their branding and packaging)—so when you find an artist inspired by nature to create jewels like these, it’s hard to pass up.

And that is precisely what we have with the line from Graham: natural shapes and textures, cast in wax from found items such as jacaranda pods or decayed wood. Many of the pieces are emboldened with a contrasting use of two metals—an oxidized cobalt chrome, paired with 18k yellow, white, or rose gold.
