JCK Jewelry Agenda: Week of July 29

There’s no shortage of industry events this week, whether you’re after antique jewels, exceptional stones, or designer jewelry (especially of the arts and crafts variety). Speaking of arts and crafts, we’re in a “summer glamp” state of mind. Plus: Unleash the flower power of a certain late-summer bloom…

The New York Antique Jewelry & Watch Show: July 29

Today’s the last day to shop the New York Antique Jewelry & Watch Show, held at the Metropolitan Pavilion in New York City. More than 100 top jewelers will be exhibiting, with the most collectible names—Cartier, Tiffany & Co., David Webb, Harry Winston, Van Cleef & Arpels, Rolex—well represented. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn more about estate jewelry, network with pros, and pick up truly special works for that discerning client.

American Craft Show: August 3–5

Sam Woehrmann ring
Doesn’t the navette-shaped aquaprase in this Sam Woehrmann ring look like an aerial view of Pacific coastline?

The San Francisco edition of this juried show celebrating all things handmade kicks off Friday at the Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture’s Festival Pavilion. Shop 89 artisan jewelers and metalsmiths, many from the Bay Area, including JCK editor favorites Tura Sugden, Petra Class, and Sam Woehrmann—someone has to pick up the ring above before we do (we first fell in love with it at JA New York this spring).

Atlanta Jewelry Show: August 4–6

Vahan bracelet
Vahan silver, gold, and diamond bracelet

If you can brave the heat, you’ll be well rewarded. Some of the best suppliers set up here (think of this Cobb Galleria event as a mini Tucson Gem Show), and as far as designers, JCK editor favorites like Bounkit, Gabriel & Co, Mazza Co., Nina Nguyen, Vahan, and Royal Chain are definitely worth a visit. Come for the jewels and gems, stay for the complimentary morning coffee and $5 full buffet lunch (not a typo)!

Look we’re loving: High camp

And may we suggest…

Dahlias

It’s dahlia season! They’re like the peony’s more structured and architectural sister. What they lack in fragrance, they make up for in color options and wow factor—especially the extra-large varieties known as dinner plate dahlias. Pick some up at your local farmer’s market for countertop arrangements and window displays.
