Rickard named president of HJA

Philip Rickard was recently elected president of the Hawaii Jewelers Association. Rickard will be responsible for leading the nearly 250 members and associate members. The mission of HJA is to be the center of knowledge for jewelers and advocate professionalism and high ethical standards in the jewelry trade.

HJA, a Jewelers of America affiliate organization, meets on a monthly basis to discuss a range of topics from publicity and awards to special events for the Jewelers Children Fund.

Rickard’s company, Philip Rickard Honolulu, manufactures Hawaiian jewelry created using heavy weight gold or platinum and deep cut ornate designs by master craftsmen. The jewelry is crafted at his third floor, Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center location. His elaborate designs have attracted a wide customer base, including pop artists such as The Pussycat Dolls and Gwen Stefani.

In business since 1986, Rickard has two retail locations in Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center—the premier shopping destination in Waikïkï, which consists of 293,000 square feet along a three-block stretch on Kaläkaua Avenue.
