Jewelry and watches were among many of the items selling well at Internet retailer Amazon.com during the holiday season. 

The Seattle-based company said Tuesday that its top sellers among jewelry items included 14k white gold stud earrings set with round diamonds, platinum round 4-prong diamond stud earrings, and sterling silver open double flower pendants.

The most popular watches for the season were Bulova women’s diamond bezel chronograph, Invicta men’s automatic Pro Diver S2 Watch, and Movado women’s Amarosa watch.

Amazon.com said its 12th holiday season was its best ever. The company (chich includes www.amazon.com, www.amazon.co.uk, www.amazon.de, www.amazon.fr, www.amazon.co.jp, www.amazon.ca) said it shipped 99 percent of its orders on time to meet holiday deadlines worldwide.

Its busiest day was on Dec. 11 when the company received more than orders for more than four million items.
