Conference to Discuss New Supply Models

At a time of rapid changes in the diamond supply pipeline, the Third International Rough Diamond Conference will provide a platform for the discussion of new models of rough supply. The conference, to be held Feb. 11 and 12 in Israel will bring together representatives of all major diamond producing countries, as well as leading mining and exploration companies.

Varda Shine, Managing Director of the Diamond Trading Company said that the conference would provide an opportunity for the DTC to explain its new strategy and vision to a wider audience.

“Our new commercial strategy brings together our commitment to beneficiation and our desire to work with those companies best able to add value to the diamonds we sell,” Shine said.

Moti Ganz, Chairman of the Israel Diamond Institute Group of Companies, which is organizing the conference, said that he was gratified by the overwhelming interest of industry leaders in attending the event.

“We are seeking to have this conference represent all of the entities in the rough diamond world,” Ganz said. To date we have had positive responses from most industry players.”
