The Israel Diamond Institute Group of Companies promoted Orna Chait to deputy managing director and chief information officer. In this capacity, she will be responsible for information technology and online services of the IDI Group of Companies.
IDI said in a statement that Chait’s promotion is in keeping with its policy of developing the area of IT, as well as focusing efforts and resources on the Internet in order to meet challenges posed by future markets.
Chait joined the IDI in November 2007 as the diamond industry’s Portal manager. Holding a Masters Degree in Computer Technology from Bar-Ilan University, she was manager of the Portal Unit at the Israel Export Institute, and a lecturer in Computer Science in the Informatics Department of Beit Berl College, as well as at the Center for Continuing Education at Tel Aviv University.
