Diamond dealer Chad Davis, 38, Orlando, Fla., died last week,
according to a report in the Orlando
Sentinel, which
quoted the local medical examiner saying a drug overdose was suspected.
Davis had been involved in a legal dispute with Rosy Blue, a diamond
company based in Belgium, which accused him of a scam involving $4 million
worth of diamonds it had supplied him. Davis said he lost the diamonds at the
Florida Mall, the newspaper reported. It also noted that a federal court had
given Rosy Blue a $6 million judgment against Davis and his company, Davis
& Associates. Davis called Rosy Blue’s claims “frivolous.”
