Jane Win x La Vie Style House Collection Gives Supermodel Vibes

Share

Christy. Claudia. Cindy. Linda. And perhaps the queen of them all, Naomi. If you are of a certain age, you likely recognize these names as supermodels and have full flashbacks of their many magazine spreads.

“I can see those Elle and Harper’s covers where they were dripping in gold jewelry,” says Jane Winchester Paradis, founder of the Jane Win jewelry brand and co-creator of a new capsule collection for fashion label La Vie Style House that’s influenced by 1990s supermodel style. Think statement hearts, bold colors, and lots of gold. Plus, coin pendants with meaningful motifs—always a Jane Win signature, Paradis says.

“The supermodel part wasn’t what inspired me,” she says about designing the capsule. “It was the fun of it—the girl-gang feeling, the women in charge. I always find that inspiring.”

la vie Jane Win
Jane Win’s collaboration with La Vie Style House features classic symbols like the horseshoe, heart, and cross along with a 1990s supermodel vibe.

Based in Dallas, with stores in multiple cities around the country, La Vie Style House was founded by stylists Lindsey McClain and Jamie Coulter in 2013 around their love of glamorous but easy fashion—as in the brand’s hit collection of one-size-fits-all caftans and wraps. Coulter and McClain’s vintage-inspired approach to luxury is what drew Paradis to them, she says.

When Paradis met with the La Vie Style House founders at their offices last year, they agreed the jewelry collaboration would be suitable for layered looks and the joy of dressing and accessorizing.

“I walked in and we were playing with jewelry and they kept gravitating to the biggest pieces we make. Big hearts. I think the energy of their brand is big, and I love it,” Paradis says. “The caftans have a main-character energy, and the jewelry needed to meet the stunning fabrics and colors where they live naturally. Chic, happy, size-inclusive.”

Granted, Paradis spent much of the 1990s in a Massachusetts boarding school (“pure torture,” she says), but she always wanted clothing and jewelry that made a splash—hot pink rather than morose black. This collection was built off that preference.

Greek Cross Jane Win
The capsule’s Gardez Bien pendant is modeled on the Greek cross and available in different styles, including Four Corners ($368), named for its moonstone edges.

Paradis says her favorite pieces in the Jane Win x La Vie Style House collection are the C’est la Vie coin ($328) and Greek cross pendants. It was important to her for coin pendants to be a centerpiece of the collection because Jane Win is known for its coin jewelry.

“The words and the meaning really matter to me, and I am having a ‘C’est la vie’ moment. I am focused on remembering, in this crazy time, to go with the flow, enjoy the days, dress up, and have fun,” Paradis says.

As for the Greek cross, she says it embodies ’90s oversize jewelry and can be appreciated outside any religious context.

“At Jane Win, we have a Faith collection centered around the tree of life that is open to all religious interpretations, but we have not done traditional crosses,” Paradis says. “This is a symbol I love–I love it with the gold chains. I don’t want to exclude anyone from our collection, and I feel like the square Greek cross is more of a design element than a religious statement.”

The Jane Win x La Vie Style House Collection is available on the Jane Win website and at La Vie Style House locations in Dallas, Palm Beach, Nashville, and Charlotte, N.C.
