To help the e-commerce company grow, Poshmark has brought in a veteran product expert who previously worked at online powerhouses eBay, Ancestry, and Glassdoor.
Heather Friedland (pictured) became Poshmark’s first chief product officer on Oct. 27. In her new role with the fashion resale marketplace, she will lead product strategy and execution and establish a plan for expanding the company through community, social media, and experiences.
Before joining Poshmark, Friedland held the position of chief product officer at Ancestry for four and a half years and at Glassdoor for nearly three years. Prior to that, she worked at eBay for six years, ultimately serving as vice president of seller and local experience.
Friedland began her career at Jump.com (which was acquired by Microsoft), where she spent a decade building products and teams across MSN, Windows Live Q&A, and the Bing search engine. She holds a B.S. with honors in communications, with a concentration in business and e-commerce, from Cornell University.
“I’m thrilled to join Poshmark,” Friedland said in a statement, noting she is “a longtime Posher.
“I’m excited to partner with the team to bring bold, innovative solutions to the Poshmark community and scale the impact we deliver. As AI reshapes the future of shopping—making experiences more intuitive, personalized, and human—I see enormous opportunity for Poshmark to lead the way in redefining how people discover, connect, and find joy in shopping together.”
Poshmark CEO Namsun Kim said in the statement that Friedland combines deep product expertise with a customer-first mindset and a sharp understanding of marketplace dynamics.
“We’re entering an exciting new chapter as AI redefines how people shop, sell, and connect,” said Kim. “With Heather’s leadership, we’ll accelerate innovation across our platform, expand the value we deliver to our shoppers and sellers, and position Poshmark at the forefront of fashion resale and the next generation of AI-powered commerce.”
