Britt’s Pick: Callista by Vinita’s Raas Leela Earrings

Share

One of my favorite breakout trends of the year, mismatched earrings help jewelry wearers feel a little less predictable. They’re a good dose of organized chaos. But harmony exists in just the right asymmetrical earrings, like this lovely floral duo from Callista by Vinita.

“The earrings are from our latest collection, Raas Leela, inspired by the love and stories of Radha and Krishna from Hindu mythology,” says brand founder and designer Vinita Navale. “Meaning ‘dance of divine love,’ raas leela depicts Radha dancing, immersed in the music of Lord Krishna’s flute.”

If you look closely at the earring on the left, you’ll notice that vertical bar is in the shape of a flute, decorated with cubic zirconia where the instrument’s finger holes would be. Swirling around the flute are jasmine flowers, which appear in the shorter of the two earrings as well, representing eternal love and devotion, Radha’s deep love for Krishna.

Fringed tassels on each ear tie the pair together, giving the earrings a fashion-forward angle that manages to remain classic and elegant.

“It’s believed that today Radha and Krishna perform raas leela every evening in the sacred gardens of Vrindavan, India,” Navale says. “The Raas Leela earrings present a contemporary and modern aesthetic while retaining a deep spiritual quality and capture the essence of divine love in motion. The motifs, colors, and textures are thoughtfully selected to reflect and symbolize the divine love shared by Radha and Krishna.”

What makes this mismatched pair even more appealing is the price point: Crafted of 18k gold–plated sterling silver, with CZ and pearls at the end of the tassels, they’re a gift-worthy bargain under $500. With their glitz and glamour, these earrings are a big holiday win, and their floral design ensures they have a place on the ears year-round.
