FHH Offering Watch Education for Consumers

Share

Fondation Haute Horlogerie (FHH), the Geneva-based group that promotes watchmaking culture, is starting an educational program aimed at watch lovers who want to learn more.

For the last decade, the FHH Academy has offered watch education for the trade. With FHH’s new program, members of the general public can get certified as a watch adviser, watch specialist, or watch expert.

To attain the first certification level, watch adviser, consumers must view the Watch Essentials Video Series—a 10-chapter course in which watchmakers, historians, and specialists discuss the history of specialty watchmaking—and then pass a test on it.

The program is available now on a new platform, FHH Boutique, with fees for the course and the test.

“By opening up this first step of certification, we are making watchmaking knowledge more inclusive, accessible, and engaging for everyone.” Aurélie Streit, vice president of FHH, said in a statement.
