Luis Morais (pictured) says his flagship boutique is an immersive space where new and existing clients can “see a bit of my world.” A self-described “frustrated decorator,” Morais created the store’s interior look himself, and he included many pieces from his personal art collection for show and sale.
The boutique, which opened last spring at 1701 Sunset Harbour Drive in Miami, also gives Morais a place to celebrate his eponymous fine jewelry brand’s 25th anniversary this year.
In the middle of the 500-square-foot store, there’s a daybed (on top of a thick brick-colored rug) where clients can lounge, have a glass of champagne, and appreciate the artwork and jewelry cases. Along with his jewelry, Morais features candles and fragrances in the product mix.

“I wanted it to be a place that people would come and not feel in a rush to leave, where they could take time to admire the jewelry, try it on, and explore the other objects we have, like contemporary art and perfume,” he says.
One artwork now on display is Vladislav Markov’s pigment and acrylic on canvas creation titled Thank me I didn’t do it earlier and yes you can message (2024)—an example, Morais says, of how the artist’s work explores perception and communication through layered abstraction, inviting viewers to engage with its shifting forms and meanings.
The store also contains a variety of mirrors, full-length as well as smaller, so clients can see themselves with the jewelry on as others would.
“At the very back, where we have the fragrances, we covered a wall in gold sheet metal. At sunset, the store fills with a golden glow, accentuating our box full of treasures,” says Morais.

Morais’ jewelry includes his signature beaded designs. Born and raised in Brazil but living in south Florida since the late ’90s, he began making jewelry after he saw a bracelet in a magazine and couldn’t get it out of his mind. He also couldn’t find the piece in any store, so he re-created it with a handcrafted bracelet. Morais founded his brand in 2000 and incorporated it in 2002.
“I never thought I would be in business this long, let alone have a showroom,” he says. “The space came to me—I was at a trunk show at another store, and the owner asked me if I ever considered opening my own boutique. I listened, I thought about it, and then this happened.
“I try to do everything with intention—from the stones I use, the meaning of the motifs I select, to the energy of the boutique,” says Morais. “It’s about sending out good vibes.”
