Past Perfect: Inside Unsaid’s First Pre-Loved Diamond Capsule

Share

Unsaid, a Paris-based jeweler known for its carbon-neutral practices and emotion-driven design language, is now turning inward to legacy and reinvention. At this year’s Couture show in Las Vegas, the brand unveiled a 10-piece capsule made with “pre-loved” diamonds dating back to the 1930s or earlier.

The collection marks Unsaid’s first foray into pre-loved mined stones, sourced from the secondary market through heritage diamond specialists. Rather than reworking vintage settings, Unsaid has reset the diamonds in entirely new rings of 100% recycled 18k gold. Some feature pavé diamonds reclaimed from the same supply, adding texture and depth to the sculptural, statement-making pieces.

“This is not merely a collection launch,” said Unsaid CEO Ankit Mehta in a statement. “It’s a meditation on value—what we keep, what we pass on, and how we shape the future by honoring the past.

“Pre-loved has always been part of our vision,” he added. “This moment brings it to the surface. It’s striking a conversation around where luxury meets responsibility, a continuation of our commitment to sustainable sourcing and circularity.”

Unsaid drew on signature silhouettes from its Meta, Bubble, and forthcoming Knot collections in crafting the rings with pre-loved diamonds. A standout piece has a hidden diamond beneath a bloom-like form that opens “at the touch of a concealed button,” according to the brand. It’s an elegant feat of storytelling and engineering—and a fine example of Unsaid’s ethos: design that moves, quite literally, with feeling.

With this capsule, Unsaid is expanding the industry’s sustainability narrative—often dominated by lab-grown stones—to include pre-loved, giving new resonance, form, and context to jewels of the past.
