Roberto Coin’s Fifth Season Brand Launches Stateside

Famed Italian jeweler Roberto Coin is bringing his 10-year-old European fashion jewelry line to the United States this summer. Dubbed the Fifth Season by Roberto Coin, the jewelry is made in sterling silver and 18k gold vermeil with enamel, diamond, and gemstone accents—unlike the Roberto Coin brand, which features jewelry largely made in 18k gold—and will start at $100 retail. All pieces will still feature the signature hidden ruby accent evident on all of Coin’s jewelry.

Coin is bringing the collection to U.S. customers to appeal to a more youthful clientele and a “new generation of consumers,” according to the brand.

“My idea is that jewelry is connected to an attitude rather than an ideal concept,” Coin said in a statement. “The name ‘The Fifth Season’ appropriately refers to a woman’s evolving sense of style, seeing how fashion changes as quickly and as regularly as the seasons, the jewelry line adds to an already outstanding repertoire, allowing every woman to dress for her mood.”

The Fifth Season designs nod to the main Coin collection with basket weave motifs and the use of semiprecious stones and three colors of gold—yellow, rose, and white. The designs also feature more modern, contemporary styling, while incorporating the basket weave theme as well as stingray accents. Existing wholesale customers can carry the line.
