They say things come in threes, but in one designer’s experience, the number is more like 14! That’s the number of staffers at Heather B. Moore Jewelry in Cleveland who have either gotten married or announced plans to do so in the past year alone. No wonder Moore decided it was time to debut a bridal collection.
“Jaede is getting married this weekend!” Moore told me in an email interview yesterday. “Brennan got married last weekend! And Willis is getting married in the summer of 2015! So the number keeps rising! Bridal has been on everyone’s minds, and what a fun topic because it’s the beginning of something new.”
Moore says “a handful of stores” bought styles at the 2013 Couture show, where the collection debuted to the trade, and more have expressed interest. Surely the accolades don’t hurt: Moore won the Couture show’s Bridal Jewelry Award, confirming that the new looks were “headed in the right direction,” she says.
“When looking back at the evolution of our Charming Collection, it was a direct response from the partnerships that we have nurtured over the years and the feedback and requests from our retailers,” she explains. “So I am taking the same approach with the growth of this line.”
Already, there have been requests, namely for mountings that will accommodate larger center stones and different buy-in groupings.
“We are also showcasing Classic collection rings that complement the personalized rings as anniversary bands, and, stacking must haves,” she adds. “Some retailers can choose just to purchase the classic collection rings with minimal personalization.”
Moore’s signature aesthetic translates loud and clear in this line. Designs allow customers to inscribe the wedding date, location of the ceremony, a couple’s initials, and more, in shanks.
“Our personalization techniques are what put us on the map, and we are not losing sight of that importance,” maintains Moore.
About 100 SKUs are available in 14k and 18k rose, green, and white gold, as well as palladium, and rings are available to the trade as semi-mounts; suggested retail prices in 14k gold start at $500.
