Milwaukee Jeweler Killed, JSA Offers Reward

Leopoldo Vela is the second industry-related homicide this year

Jewelers’ Security Alliance (JSA) is offering a reward of up to $3,000 for information leading to the arrest of the person who killed Milwaukee jeweler Leopoldo Vela.

Vela, 57, owner of Corona Jewelry, a local pawnshop and jewelry store, was shot in the chest during a robbery on Oct. 31. He later died from his wounds.

This is the second industry-related homicide this year, says JSA. A traveling salesman was killed in June after confronting members of a gang who robbed him at a gas station.

The police have released a photo of the suspect in this crime (pictured). Other photos can be seen below:

If you have information regarding this crime, you are advised to contact Lt. Paul Lough of the Homicide Division of the Milwaukee Police Department at 414-935-7411.

You can also provide information to JSA at its Reward Hotline at 800-325-1883. If you wish to remain anonymous, measures will be taken to protect your identity.
