ARM Executive Director Steps Down

The organization markets Fairmined gold

Lina Villa-Cordoba is stepping down as executive director of the Association for Responsible Mining (ARM) after five years to devote herself to new projects.

The group’s current deputy director, Marcin Piersiak, will act as interim executive director. Piersiak has been with ARM, which markets Fairmined gold, for six years.

“This organization and the Fairmined initiative more broadly are part of what I am and what I believe in,” said Villa-Cordoba in a statement. “I am confident that we have built enduring relationships with miners, refiners, brands, partners, and donors, and I thank the ARM board and team for the opportunity to be part of this story as well as the people who believed in our ability to change realities in artisanal and small-scale mining.”
